Information for visiting scientists
Visiting scientists are always welcome at the European Legal Studies Institute! The library, which is excellently equipped for the Institute's fields of research, is a favourite address for researchers and academics from Germany and abroad. It contains nearly 100,000 volumes on almost all European legal systems and European Union law. The literature available in the Institute's library is fully indexed in the electronic catalogue of the University Library.
Library staff offer individual information and an introduction to the library. The researchers at the Institute, who maintain close relations with scholars in Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Estonia, France, the Netherlands and Poland and who are particularly familiar with the Institute's book collections, can also help with specific questions. By prior arrangement, visiting academics can use personal workstations within the library. Guest access to the university network with access to numerous databases can also be arranged.
In addition, guests are welcome to arrange to take part in seminars or attend the lecture series of the Institute, where events with external and international academics take place several times a year. If you are planning a long-term stay, please contact one of the ELSI professors listed below.
